Art Galleries
There are many art galleries on Anglesey, And
they are very
interesting and diverse. The welsh word for gallery is Oriel, so if you
see that word on a sign, there is probably a gallery close
by. Most are privately owned, and we will be approaching them with a view
to advertising their crafts on these pages. In the meantime, we offer the
following information about the publicly owned galleries. This is by no
means a comprehensive list, and we ask for your patience whilst we add
more as time permits.
The Ucheldre
Centre - Holyhead
The
Ucheldre Centre is housed in the chapel of the former convent. Excellent
access for disabled. Offers artists exhibitions, cinema, and some
dramatical plays. Houses a gift and book shop, and a restaurant. Oriel Mon - Llangefni Houses part of the Tunnicliffe collection. Offers artists exhibitions, and exhibitions of historical interest. A small cafe, a book and gift shop, and a small courtyard to sit for a while. Situated right next door to Llangefni golf club.
