Llangollen in Clwyd.

Denbighshire, Llangollen, Thomas the Tank engine drivers
Llangollen is named after St Collen (Llan meaning Church - therefore
Church of St Collen). The River Dee flows through the town, and
is bordered by the Llangollen Steam Railway. A full size version
of Thomas the Tank operates out of the station, complete with
a Fat Controller.
Llangollen is in an area that boasts an outstanding array of
historical places to see, like Castell Dinas Bran, Valle Crucis
Abbey, the Llangollen Canal and Aquaeduct, Eliseg's Pillar (once
was a Cross) erected in honour of King Eliseg of Powys.
Llangollen is in the traditional county of Denbighshire, now
Clwyd, and is a bustling market town of no great size, but so
interesting it is well worthy of a
visit.
