Angharad Bowen Holmes is a Welsh speaking
genealogist and local historian. She was born and bred
on Anglesey, as were her family, - at least the last 9
generations of them. A visit
to your ancestors past and coming into contact with the
relics of the past, the houses, churches, cemeteries, chapels
and farmhouses within which your Welsh ancestor spent their
lives, “fleshes out the bones” of genealogy research.
Nothing on paper compares with actually standing at the font where your
Great Grandparent was baptised, or standing in the farmyard where your
ancestor worked as an agricultural labourer all those years ago. Hear
the Welsh language spoken the same as it was when your ancestor was alive,
and take home with you the unforgettable memories of your own family history

plans family history tours on Anglesey, and also in parts of North Caernarvonshire,
based on your own Welsh family history. Angharad will guide you to all
the locations connected to your ancestors, and show you places where they
lived, worked and spent their daily lives.
Angharad's personal tours are
tailored to fit your individual needs. Based on either your
own research, her own research on your behalf or a combination
of the two, she will prepare, plan and provide you with an
itinerary thoroughly researched to give you an experience of
a lifetime.Your itinerary is based
on your personal family history. The touring day usually begins
at 09:30 and ends at 17:30. Stop for lunch at one of the beautiful
and unspoilt pubs on Anglesey. Half day tours start at 09:30
till lunchtime.You can do as much
or as little in a day as suits you, and if you want to visit
some of Anglesey’s varied and interesting archaeological
sites, castles, natural and historical sites en route then
that can be planned into your itinerary. “Well

You set the pace. Angharad's goal
is to enable you to get a genealogical experience, a journey
into your ancestors past. When you leave for home, Angharad
wants to know that you have connected with your Welsh roots
in a way that no paper exercise will do for you.
However much archival and computer generated research we gather as family
historians, nothing compares to breathing the air that your ancestors breathed,
walking the footpaths and country roads that they walked down.
Photographic/Video services: Angharad will take photographs of your ancestors'
birthplaces, their homes, the places they knew, the churches they attended
and the cemeteries where they are buried. Angharad
also offers accompanied tours of Anglesey with a local archaeologist, visiting
interesting sites on the island. Angharad also organises gourmet picnic
lunches of traditional Welsh fare, food sourced and prepared locally on
Anglesey. Add to that a good measure of excellent weather, and you will
