Anglesey, Llanfaelog, Bryn Du, Felin Uchaf Windmill (also known as Melin Maelgwyn)l July 2009.

Built in 1789, this was the earliest of the Windmills in Bryn Du, but it makes sense that in 1825 when Felin Isaf was built a short distance away, Felin Uchaf would probably have been a far less productive Mill, as the later Mill was a combined Water and Wind Mill.

In 1881, John Lewis (aged 45 and born in Aberffraw) lived on the premises - known as Felin Uchaf - with his wife Margaret, and was a farmer of eight acres. Living with him were three daughters and three sons, ranging in age from nineteen down to one. In addition they had two servants, both aged sixteen, one female and one male.

As with Felin Isaf, this Windmill has been converted to a dwelling.
