Llanbeulan Water Mill -
Melin Treban Millers House on the Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Môn)
in North Wales.

Llanbeulan, Felin Treban Millers House, Thomas Owen Senior,
Thomas Owen and his wife Elizabeth Owens in c1900.
The millers at Melin Treban Water Mill did not actually live
at the mill, but in the above cottage a couple of hundred yards
away. To get from the millers cottage to the mill was just a short
walk up the road and across the bridge that spanned the Afon
Caradog
River.
On
the 1881 census, Thomas Owen aged 43 - and born in Rhoscolyn
- was the
Miller.
He
and his
wife
Letitia
aged
39
-
born in Bodedern
- had one son, also named Thomas and in 1881 aged 15. Yet a
third Thomas Owen also lived there, and together with three servants
ran
the farm.
The above picture which was taken in about 1900, shows
Thomas Owen senior then aged 62, and his son Thomas, then aged
about 34,
and
stood
with his wife Elizabeth Owen.

Llanbeulan, Felin Treban Millers House, Thomas and Elizabeth
Owens - c.1920.
In the above picture, taken sometime about 1920, Thomas
Owen (junior) is now aged about 54. Sadly, it was not too long
afterwards
that Thomas would cross the bridge over the river for
the last time, as he took his own life in the nearby mill. Elizabeth
would
later
marry
again.
I know there are descendants living in the Aberystwyth area,
and would be obliged if you could fill in the history? email
