Tonypandy and Penygraig Page 2

Probably the best known of all the Rhondda's towns is Tonypandy. Any visit to the Rhondda would be incomplete without a visit to the scene of the Tonypandy Riots (more about that when time permits). The town is associated with the late speaker of the House of Commons -  and gentleman, George Thomas - Viscount Tonypandy. Born Thomas George Thomas in Port Talbot in 1909, he was in fact brought up in Trealaw. Viscount Tonypandy died in 1997.

Penygraig is - amongst many other things - well known for producing some fine boxers.
