Beaches in Anglesey

Many of Anglesey’s beaches won awards in 2004, but an incredible 6 won the prestigious European Blue Flag awards. Namely, Benllech, Trearddur Bay, Porthdafarch, Llanddona, Silver Bay, and Llanddwyn.

The majority of the beaches mentioned below are sandy, and suitable for all ages. The odd beach is a little difficult to get to, but in most cases it is a case of driving right up to the beach car park. As with most places (sadly) these days, care must be taken anywhere where your car is parked unattended. Ensure valuables are locked securely out of sight. Red Wharf Bay Beach

Winner of a seaside award since 2004. A lovely sandy and cobbled beach, which sadly was pretty much absent when I took the photos, as the tide was in. Do not make the mistake of not visiting this lovely place. A delightful and beautiful area, with nice

Church Bay Beach

Church Bay is so-called because of the nearby Llanrhuddlad church which is visible from the sea. A small and delightful little pebble beach. Some facilities are available nearby, and the restaurant is famous for its cooked lobster.

Benllech Beach on the Isle of Anglesey

Certainly one of Anglesey’s most beautiful beaches. Winner of the European Blue Flag award since 2004. That should say it all. Lots of space, clean sand and ice cream parlours, a seaside shop, and food available right beside the beach. It is easy to get to this
