Holyhead War Memorial Casualties Names

Holyhead War Memorial in 2011

The photographs of the plaques listing Holyhead’s men and women that gave their lives during World War One (WWI) and World War Two (WWII) below are taken from the main War Memorial.

There are interesting stories associated with Holyhead and the War, and stories about some of our men who were wounded and were brought home, but subsequently died and are buried in Holyhead cemeteries. Other casualties of war are remembered on the graves of loved ones despite being buried in some far off land. I will present each on their own webpage along with their story – if I know it – and high-resolution photographs.
